WILLIAM MATTY JR. age 77, passed way unexpectedly on October 10, 2026. Born on April 4, 1949, Bill lived a life full of adventure, kindness, faith and integrity.
A lifelong traveler, he found joy in exploring new places—whether cruising on his favorite motorcycle along the open road or heading out for a day trip nearby. Bill spent his working years installing siding and was recognized for exceptional craftsmanship, reliability, and customer satisfaction. After retiring from his primary career he kept busy as a maintenance man. His love for animals was matched only by his dedication to volunteering, always lending a hand to causes close to his heart.
The Beach Boys were the literal “8-track” to his life, their sunny harmonies reflecting his own upbeat persona. Bill truly had a jovial spirit and his warmth, generosity, and adventurous soul will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann (nee Smith) and children Colette Park and Kevin Demchak. Grandchildren Sarah Koubeck (Zak) and Skky Clef; his sister Pat Kons and nieces and nephews David Kons (Jackie) and Jenn Kons (Tom Owen). Also survived by close friends Dave Kons, Ron LaGrosso and Jim Lisicki.
Please join his family for Memorial Mass at St. Columbkille Church 6740 Broadview Rd. Parma on Saturday October 17 at 10a.m. followed by a gathering for family and friends at Hopko Funeral Home 6020 Broadview Rd Parma.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Cleveland Animal Protective League in Bill’s honor. Flowers are also welcome for those who wish to send them.
