Servant of God Deacon William Vincent Fredrick, age 72 of Broadview Heights, Ohio, entered into eternal life on Monday, March 30, 2026. Deacon Bill had the true love of his life, Nancy, by his side at the moment of his passing. Together, they courageously fought a two-year battle against pancreatic cancer.
Deacon Bill was born on November 21, 1953 to Vincent and Jane Fredrick of Parma, Ohio. After graduating from Byzantine Catholic High School in 1971, he went on to earn a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Cleveland State University in 1975. He joined his father’s business as a partner at Fredrick and Fredrick Engineers, Inc. Prior to graduating, however, he was wed to his beloved Nancy on December 14th, 1974.
Deacon Bill joined his parents and sister Ann in eternal life. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Bisesi), and his daughters Rebecca Fredrick and Rachel Papay (Brian). He was a beloved grandfather to Grace, Maria, Faith and Frankie Rose and Aiden and Austin Papay, a loving brother to Jane Patterson (Skip) and Diane Pilat (Richard), and an uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.
Deacon Bill had many passions in life including: animals, gardening, sports, music, photography, wildlife and painting. His greatest passion, however, was in serving God. Bill became a Deacon of the Byzantine Catholic Church in 2007. He served at St. Joseph’s Church the past 19 years not only as a Deacon, but in many areas of parish and Eparchial business and leadership. Deacon Bill was a fourth degree Knight in the Garfield Heights chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He was known and loved by all who knew him. Deacon Bill’s love for life, his family, and God was clearly evident in all that he did.
Family and friends will be welcomed at Hopko Funeral Home 6020 Broadview Rd (S of Snow Rd) Parma on Monday, April 6th from 4-8 PM. with Bright Week Parastas at 7PM.
Funeral Service in Bright Week with Pascal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 7th at 11AM at St. Joseph Byzantine Catholic Church 8111 Brecksville Rd. Brecksville followed by burial at Holy Spirit Cemetery.
