Laura J. Scardina

Laura J. Scardina (nee Jeswaldo) 96, of Parma Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on her 96th birthday. Laura was born December 31, 1928 in Cleveland, Oh. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Julia Jeswaldo. Laura was employed and retired after 35 years at Navy Finance in Cleveland, where she received numerous awards for her outstanding and dedicated service.

Laura was a member of St. Augustine Church in Cleveland, Oh. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered for many years at Parma Hospital. But her greatest joy was her family and hosting many wonderful gatherings that featured her amazing talent of cooking and baking.

She married Frank C. Scardina and had a beautiful family together. They enjoyed many wonderful years until his death in 1979. With a second chance at love, Laura met and married Roger Holt. They cherished many years together enjoying time spent with family and friends until his passing in October 2019.

Laura is survived by her loving family to include her daughter Mary Parker of Parma, sons Frank A. Scardina of Parma, Thomas (Caroline) Scardina of Jefferson; Grandchildren Candice Parker, Crystal Parker, Anthony Scardina, Julie (Shane) Massari, Miranda Westfall; Great grandchildren Ryley, Julie, Maple, and Cameron.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank C Scardina, and her second husband and longtime companion Roger Holt.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the HOPKO FUNERAL HOME 6020 BROADVIEW RD (S OF SNOW RD) PARMA. Immediately following visitation will be a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Anthony Suso of Saint Columbkille Parish.
