JULIA A. ROVITO (nee Falacienski), age 99, passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. Julia was born in Cleveland’s Slavic Village to Anton and Stella Falacienski in 1927. She was a devout Catholic, attending Immaculate Heart of Mary grade school and later A.B. Hart High School. During WW II she worked as a seamstress at the Kaynee Company on Broadway Ave. sewing bellbottom dungarees for the U.S. Navy. Little did she know that she would be sewing bellbottoms for us during the Jimi Hendrix era. She married James Rovito in 1951 and they created a life together for 67 years. Dear mother of Anton Rovito (Deborah) and Patricia Riley (David), grandmother of Sarah Rovito (James Piotrowski), RJ Rovito, Thomas Rovito, Benjamin Riley (Brittany) and Jessica Gaone (Christopher). Great grandmother to Carson and Cassidy (Riley) and Christopher and Riley Rose (Gaone). Having grown up in the Great Depression, Julia was a resilient individual and emphasized values and hard work. She took great pride in her kitchen prowess and loved creating desserts topped with Coolwhip. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, often distributing giant zucchini after 4:30 pm Saturday Mass to her fellow parishioners.
