Julia M. (nee Yerga) Bilow

d. December 25, 2021

JULIA M. BILOW (nee Yerga), age 97, formerly of Parma, Ohio died on Christmas morning from complications related to Covid. She was the daughter of Michael and Julia (Smelko) Yerga. In recent years, she lived in New Hampshire to be near her family. Julia was born and educated in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating from South High School and attended Business College. She worked as a secretary for Harris-Seybold and Mercer-Meidinger, retiring from the latter in 1992.

Julia was active in the Parma (Ohio) Democratic Club for many years, and took great pride working the voting polls, serving as the presiding election judge in her precinct. She was a dedicated church volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Columbkille Parishes until well in her advanced years.

Julia was predeceased by her husband, Henry, in 1982 and by their daughter, Sandra, in 1967. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Michael Yerga (Bertie), Regina Malota (Joseph), Ann Wolf, Valeria Krause (Edwin), and Georgene Campbell (Ralph), and great grandchild Sandra Elizabeth.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and David Weihrauch of Merrimack, NH, three grandchildren, Jennifer Richardson (Carl), Erich Weihrauch (Margaret), and Kimberly Weihrauch, and five great grandchildren, Harrison, Lily, Emmalyn, Luke, and Kinley, all of NH. She is also survived by her sister, Edith Fox (Edward) of Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.

During her lifetime, she enjoyed traveling, including a trip to Slovakia to visit the birthplaces of her parents. While still living in Ohio, she spent time in her garden tending her many rose bushes and tomato plants. She remained an avid fan of Cleveland Sports Teams even after she moved to New Hampshire. Julia will be missed greatly, but never more so than during the holidays when her recipes and European traditions will continue, and memories of her irreverent sense of humor will be shared by her family.
