Joseph A. Aschenbener, 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Holy Family Home after a long struggle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Barbara J. Aschenbener (nee Klepacz) for 58 years and the son of the late Joseph and Mary Aschenbener.
Joseph was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church. He was a retired steel worker for 47 years and veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his six children, Jeanie (Joe) Maslowski, Debbie (Ray) Lotenero, Joe (Irene), Jim (Stayce), Bob and Kathy (Chuck) Bonacci; his seven grandchildren, Lauren (Adam) Tolowitzki, Joe (Marissa) Maslowski, Danielle Aschenbener, Kristen Maslowski, Justin (Cece) Aschenbener, Jason Aschenbener and Ryan Aschenbener. Brother to Fred (Cathy), Marlene (Ray) Szerensci and Bob (Joanne) (deceased).
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Holy Family Home, 6707 State Road, Parma, Ohio, 44134.
Friends received at the HOPKO FUNERAL HOME 6020 BROADVIEW RD (S OF SNOW RD) PARMA where services will be held Thursday October 2, 2014 at 10:30a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11a.m. at St. Columbkille Church. Interment Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
