JOHN FRANCIS STEFANOV, age 95 of Seven Hills,OH, passed away Friday, May 10th.Beloved husband for 57 years to Anne (née Bugara), who passed away in 2005, John accepted Anne's invitation to dance in heaven. We will miss John terribly but are comforted that they are together again. Loving Father of Anne Varsanyi (Fred), John (Cindy), Ken (Kathy) and Bob (Jean). Best Grandpa to Juli, Michael (Meghan), Ali, Nick (Missy), Katy (John), Jenny, Abbi (Darrell), Gina and Kara. Great Grandpa to Emma, Owen, Jack, Connor, Maddie, Cooper and Zoe.

John was a friend to many, with his infectious and mischievous smile. He remained active until his final days, volunteering at Holy Family Home Hospice in Parma and at the bereavement center in Independence. John served in the Army Air Force for almost 4 years in WW II as a radio operator on B-17 campaigns. He was a proud, patriotic veteran who was always concerned about our country's welfare up until the very end. John worked 43 years for US Steel, ascending to management when he finally retired in 1983. He was a steel man through and through - tough as nails yet forged with tenderness, wisdom and a superior work ethic.

Being ever the fighter, he battled through the loss of his beloved Anne in 2005,whom he married in 1948. The legacy of their love for each other will continue in the hearts and minds of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as the wisdom they imparted to their entire family. J

John was also a passionate Indians fan, who spent many hours at the ballpark with his family and created so many lasting, celebratory memories.
