George Stephen Kacala age 94 died at his residence on Saturday, April 11, 2020 of natural causes.
George was born on August 24,1925 in Cleveland,OH to George Michael and Elizabeth Kacala (nee Kusnerik). He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Kacala and sisters Eleanor Kacala, Marcella Pesecky (Elmer J.), Anna Bednash and Agnes Drescher. George was a graduate of East Technical School and a WWII Army veteran where he was a paratrooper and radio operator specialist in the Philippines and Japan. After the war, he attended Radio and Television School in Illinois, and worked as a television repair specialist for many years. He was a huge fan of Cleveland sports, enjoying ethnic foods and current events. We admired his sharp mind, and his ability to remain independent to the very end.
George was a dear Uncle to Carol Pollock(Jack), Elmer Pesecky (Connie), Jeffrey Pesecky, Agnes Drescher and the late Barbara Drescher Walther (Hans) as well as many great and great-great nieces and nephews. George was a longtime member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Garfield Hts.
A private memorial service will be held in the near future. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.
