Emma Marie Burkhardt

Emma Marie Burkhardt (nee Luvison), age 98, cherished mother (and mother-in-law) of John Caral (Arlyn), Carol Kessel (Jeff), Rick Caral (Beth), and Michael Caral (Marji) ; widow of Leonard Caral and Paul Burkhardt, loving grandmother of Mike Kessel (Bethany), Diane Kessel, Mark Caral (Megan) and Chrissie Caral, and great grandmother of Vincent Kessel.  The youngest and last surviving child of John and Regina Luvison, she treasured the memories of her late siblings Ida, Herman, Charles, Enis, and Rena.  

Emma was a brilliant, loving, and pragmatic woman.  After becoming a widow in her mid 30’s, she balanced raising four children ages 7-14 alone while going back to work to provide for the family.  She led the "Warm Up America" group at St.Columbkille that hand-knitted blankets and other items for distribution to the VA, nursing homes and other people in need. 

FRIENDS RECEIVED 10 - 11AM WEDNESDAY MORNING MAY 31, 2023 AT THE HOPKO FUNERAL HOME 6020 BROADVIEW RD (S OF SNOW RD) PARMA followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St Columbkille Church at 11:30a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
